World Psoriasis Day in Iceland

SPOEX in Iceland has signed a contract with the event company Practical to assist the organization in the preparation of the International Psoriasis Day 2008 in Iceland.

Practical and SPOEX have a close cooperation and have put together an interesting program for the day. The aim of the program is to raise awareness of the disease and raise money for the research fund of SPOEX.

• To have positive impact on children Iceland  organized educational visits to the largest elementary schools in Reykjavík. (15 schools) Valgerður, the president of Spoex will lead the introduction along with one of Iceland´s most popular pop stars.

• SPOEX signed a contract with Blue Lagoon for sponsoring of hand lotion and a agreement with a band in Iceland that the incomes of the sales will be used to support research of psoriasis
• To raise awareness of skin diseases SPOEX sent a newsletter that  was distributed to all homes in the country
• Psoriasis/psoriasis arthritis Members walked together to one of Reykjavik’s public pools and went for a swim. This was one way of breaking down barriers for people with psoriasis

• Free  treatment at Blue Lagoon for one day
